Building Strong Communications,
Based On A Solid Foundation

Communications has helped to make the world seem smaller. And as the world of communications becomes smaller through mergers and acquisitions, it has become more important than ever before to know a company you can depend on to provide service when and where you need it. Great Lakes Comnet is a broadband network and switching infrastructure company that enables modern and efficient deployment of a variety of voice, video and data services.

GLC was organized as a for-profit Michigan based corporation in 1996. Its shareholders are independent telephone companies operating throughout Michigan, some of which have more than a century of telecommunications experience. The company became operational in 2001 and has expanded every year since. Future plans include the deployment of a significant amount of additional fiber miles of network throughout Michigan.

GLC has the only independently owned and operated Tandem Switch in Michigan. We utilize traditional and next generation Class 4 and Class 5 switching technologies that are connected to a matched pair of Broadband STPs. Our state-of-the-art Tandem Switch is connected to more than 150 carriers. Our goal is to provide partner companies with services and products that result in:
  • Increased revenues
  • Reduced operating expense
  • Placement into new strategic markets
