Mapping
Services
GLC's mapping services can be used by not only Telcos, but also
CLECs, IXCs, state governmental agencies, local municipalities, utility
companies, educational institutions and corporations. Any entity that
requires the highly accurate plotting of facilities, including cables,
poles, buildings, structures, fences, property lines, right-of-ways,
etc. can utilize GLC's mapping services. GLC has mapped it's own
state-wide fiber network with this these advanced technologies. We have
also helped many Telcos, IXCs and CLECs gather and document their
respective outside plant network information.
GLC's mapping systems include GIS, laser and DGPS technologies. The
integration of these extremely accurate data collection technologies
into our CAD/CAM applications enable facility mapping of land use and
structures to be efficiently and accurately plotted. By referencing any
point of interest to the property corners, visual representations can be
accurately indicated showing "where in the world" structures are
located.
Example project: For Blissfield Schools; The school campus is
located in southeast Michigan and the school property lines are complex
series of twists and turns. GLC mapped all major points of interest such
as the property lines, corners, field amenities, building corners,
existing bleachers, football and baseball fields, track and field,
existing fences, sidewalks, gates, etc. GLC overlaid this complicated
campus facility complex onto a landbase map and incorporated it into a
professional survey. This highly accurate mapping has greatly assisted
the school administration with documentation of "what they have where"
and will guide them with future planning. |
